The new Dallas District Attorney elect John Creuzot will now take on the Amber Guyger- Botham Jean cas

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – John Creuzot beat out Faith Johnson for Dallas County District Attorney, which means now he will inherit the case involving Dallas Officer, Amber Guyger, who admitted to shooting and killing a Botham Jean inside his apartment.
SMU Political Science Professor Dr. Mathew Wilson said this will be the most high profile case Creuzot will inherit. “There’s a lot of agitation in minority communities in Dallas about the circumstances surrounding this case,” Wilson said

He said a lot of the people who have worked on this case in the DA’s office will stay, “But my hope with this case would be that it won’t get politicized,” Wilson said.

Wilson hopes the case has continuity and the transition goes smoothly.

Creuzot will be sworn in January.
