ANSON – (WBAP/KLIF) – A 24 year old man convicted of the rape of a 10 year old girl in Dallas County when he was 16 years old has been handed a death sentence for the 2016 beating and choking death of a prison guard at Abilene’s Robertson Unit Prison.
Inmate Dillion Gage Compton attacked Mari Johnson, 55, when she went into the storage area near the kitchen where he was assigned to work, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice said Monday. Prison officials say they found Johnson’s body handcuffed to the floor near a kitchen area where Compton worked.
The Robertson Unit, about 140 miles west of Fort Worth, is an all-male facility that has a capacity of nearly 3,000 inmates and about 500 corrections officers.
