Fort Worth Program Donates Books to Classrooms for North Texas Giving Day

Provided by City of Fort Worth

FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF)- Read Fort Worth, a Classroom Library Campaign,  is using 100% of donations from North Texas Giving Day to buy books for schools. The Read Fort Worth program has already donated 6,000 books to local schools and they are trying to give more and stock classroom shelves. Program director Anel Mercado said for every dollar donated on 9/20 will be matched by an anonymous donor to help Fort Worth Students.

“It’s really exciting because we are raising money for our Classroom Library Campaign and this is really about having the types of books that kids need to be on grade level and culturally relevant,” Mercado said.
