Texas Education Agency Releases School District Ratings

AUSTIN (WBAP/KLIF News) – The Texas Education Agency released controversial school district reports cards Wednesday morning.

Districts are given letter grades A through F and the agency said the rating system is meant to improve accountability.

In addition to letter grades, districts are given ratings of “met requirement” and “improvement required” based on how schools performed in the 2017-2018 school year.

Here are the results from the largest school districts across the Metroplex: Dallas ISD B, Garland ISD B, Fort Worth ISD C, Arlington ISD C, Plano ISD A and Frisco ISD A.

School leaders have been highly critical of the new system.

Some argue the letter grades will unfairly judge schools, particularly in poor communities that struggle to retain teachers and families.
