Outgoing Texas Republican: “I ask you to impeach Trump.”

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) — Outgoing state representative Jason Villalba has penned a scathing letter about President Trump, saying it’s time to impeach him.

In an essay for the Texas Tribune, Villalba writes that President Trump is “no longer our leader,” and that “it’s time to push him into the ash bin of history.”

He says President Trump thinks Americans are fools, and that he does not embody true Republican qualities like those shared by one of his predecessors, former President Ronald Reagan.

Villalba, a Republican, lost his primary in March and will not be serving on the state legislature in 2019. He has spoken out against Trump in the past, and even blamed his primary loss on his outspokenness.

“I have no regrets,” Villalba says in his essay. “I always do what I believe is right. That is not politically expedient, but it helps me sleep at night.”
