DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The grueling summer heat didn’t stop North Texans from taking advantage of a big discount at the Dallas Zoo on Thursday.
On ‘Dollar Day’ zoo admission was just $1. Many zoo goers braved the heat to get the discount.
“I got here early to stay as cool as possible but I wasn’t going to miss dollar day,” said a grand father with his grand kids.
He wasn’t alone. Hundreds of people got to the zoo early to avoid the heat.
“This was my chance to take all eight of my children to the zoo together,” said one Dallas mother.
Some people said they had been planning the trip to the zoo for ‘Dollar Day’ for months to take advantage of the deal.
