Animal Abuse and Neglect Charges Laid Against Dallas County Puppy Owners

Dallas – (WBAP/KLIF) –The Dallas County District Attorney’s Office has filed animal cruelty charges against Dallas County residents who the Dallas SPCA says admitted to dumping three puppies alongside a road in Southeast Dallas County.  The puppies were found dead, but a necropsy indicated the pups had died of neglect and abuse, as well as parvovirus, a deadly disease that quickly kills animals.

The SPCA’s Maura Davies says investigators were able to find the owners of the animals by reviewing camera footage of the crime in progress, and tracking down the culprits by license plates.  Davies says the owners admitted to the crime.   Davies notes a direct link between abuse of animals and violence against humans.   She says if help is needed with health care for animals, a good place to find it is through a call to the Dallas County SPCA.

People are encouraged to report suspected animal abuse and animal dumping by calling 9-1-1.
