Suspect in Trinity Trails Naked Man Assault Case in Fort Worth Arrested

FORT WORTH  (WBAP/KLIF News) – Fort Worth police have arrested a suspect in the Trinity Trails Naked Man assault case.

Investigators said 21-year-old Justin Lacey Ray is facing charges in connection with a violent assault on a woman last year.

On September 16th, a woman told police a naked man assaulted her on Edwards Ranch Road on the south side of Trinity Trails West. Although she was severely injured, she was able to escape her attacker and call for help.

Police said a tip helped detectives develop a sketch of the suspect, who was later identified as Ray, who at the time was homeless and had ties to the area around Texas Christian University and the west side of Fort Worth.

Although police had their suspect, investigators learned that Ray was no longer in the area.

Last month, the department’s Sex Crimes Unit learned that Ray was in jail on felony theft charges in Waycross, Georgia. When detectives went to Waycross to interview Ray, he allegedly gave them information linking himself to the crime.

Ray is charged with Aggravated Sexual Assault and Aggravated Assault. Extradition on the charges is pending.

Police are asking anyone with information about Ray to contact the Sex Crimes Unit at 817-392-4359 or the department’s non-emergency number at 817-392-4222.
