The Byron Nelson Moves South

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The Trinity Forest Golf Club is the site for this year’s Byron Nelson golf tournament.

The course sits on the banks of the Trinity River and brings the tournament to Southeast Dallas.

“It puts us on the map,” said a long time Pleasant Grove resident. “They aren’t going to be talking about South Oak Cliff. It’s all about Pleasant Grove now.”

The tournament is celebrating its 50th year in existence and moves to South Dallas from its long time home in Las Colinas. The golf tournament gears up Thursday but several events and practice rounds have already started. The biggest name in this year’s tournament is Dallas native Jordan Spieth.

Dallas city leaders are excited for the opportunities the city brings to the Trinity River area.
