FTW Officials to Discuss Poor Police Response Times & Expanding a Smoking Ban to Public Parks

Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – A few notable items on the Fort Worth City Council meeting agenda tonight. Discussion on what some are calling “unacceptable” response times for police is expected to be a hot topic.

Councilment are also expected to vote tonight on expanding the newly implemented smoking ban to public parks.

As it stands now, smoking is banned in bars and bingo parlors. Smoke shops also are not permitted to open within 300 feet of schools or hospitals.

If passed, smoking would still be allowed in outdoor areas of city-owned golf courses, while the city’s Parks and Recreations Department could decided if they want to designate smoking sections during special events.
