Proposed Texas bullet train moves another step forward

Washington (WBAP/KLIF) – A proposed Dallas-to-Houston bullet train may be a little closer to reality now that the U.S. Department of Transportation has released its long awaited Draft Environmental Impact Statement. That study analyzed several possible routes, and chose one that would run through powerline easements. It’s not a final choice. There must still be a number of public hearings, and adjustments before construction could start on the $15 billion project. Backers hope to reach that point in late 2018, or early 2019.
