Dallas (WBAP/KLIF News) – The City of Dallas and the Texas National Guard are teaming up to “crack down” on drug houses.

It’s called “Operation Crackdown”, and it’s actually going on statewide this month.  First Lieutenant Bruce Robison with the Texas Air Guard says the city identifies the drug house, then they move in.

“With the Operation Crackdown program, the equipment is an excavator and two front-end loaders,” said Robison.  “We’re able to rent that equipment through asset forfeiture funds.”

The Guard will tear down roughly 60 drug houses across the city, from now until the end of August.  Statewide, about 1,300 drug houses are on the list.
